Individual stories are available in print format for guided and shared reading in the classroom. Literactive Reading uses a variety of styles and genres to provide emergent, early fluent and fluent readers with a balanced introduction to the diversity of adult texts.
All stories are beautifully illustrated in full color with a strong text-picture correspondence to provide decoding cues to early readers. The texts are written by contemporary children’s authors chosen for their ability to create engaging and exciting stories whose characters, plots, themes and humor appeal to children.
The repetitive structure and gradual progression of the Literactive Reading Program encourages successful reading development in a multi level classroom with specific remedial and extension activities. Level 1-5 stories are written using the high-frequency vocabulary for Kindergarten and Grade 1 with frequent repetition of the new words introduced at each level. The grading criteria are clearly set out at the beginning of each level.
